Supervisory Skills, Instructional Leadership and Tactical Management

Along the organisational ladder, we often experience a competence gap, while personnel are moving up the levels. And, in today’s complex environment, where relationships are more multi-lateral, departments are more connected and daily work pressure more intense, there is an increasing need to have the right capacity building for those who will be in charge of a group of staff. The contemporary supervisor needs proper guidance, adequate training and adequate personal, management, leadership and soft skills to meet up with the new challenges.
 
Target audience:
Officers, supervisors and functional managers in various fields in primary & production, secondary & manufacturing as well as tertiary & services-oriented sectors. It is also applicable to those who are contemplating the start of a new career.

Objectives of our course:

  • To explore the management spectrum for the development of effective planning, organising, leading and controlling functions for the modern Supervisor.
  • To appreciate best practices in instructional leadership, negotiation, project management, team building & management of teams and conflict resolution.
  • To overview the competences needed for the Supervisory position and the distinct types of soft skills required.

Course Format: Face-to-face lectures with LCD Presentation, Individual exercises, case-study discussions, Mauritian case-in-practice, Personality development exercises.

Duration: 24 Hours over 12 Weeks – Part time, with one weekly session.
